Impermissible Sins

Published by Johnson on

Sparks dart from the burning wood
Soaring as they burn out
Glowing as long as they can
As the fire devours them
Creating a magnificent show
That only lasts for a moment
Ending up with ash
Blown all over by the wind
Broken into pieces
One that float helplessly

So is the fate of the accused
Helpless among men
Shameful
Sitting at the center
After he was found in the very act
His head-locked to the ground
As the elders
Each one
Define his destiny
As they watch the disappearing sparks
And marvel at how fast they disappear
Looking suggestively
At the soon to be outcast!
